So my idea that I have as of right now (subject to change) is to establish a Winter Guard at my school. We used to have one and have a super cool Winter Guard, but after my school remodeled back in probably 2016ish, most of our things were lost, and Winter Guard was no more.
My goal is to figure out how to re-establish a Winter Guard, and help the Color Guard at my school get bigger, and get more funding and stuff!

uniforms
- uniforms can cost from $50-$80 per piece for non custom uniforms
- pants/leggings are easy to get however, if they are black
- custom uniforms can be from $130-$340 , but most come in full body uniforms
flags/silks/flagpoles
- flags/silks can be $30-$50 per silk for sewn in
- printed flags can be $30-$50 per flag
- solid color flags can be $11-$60 per flag
- flag poles are like $20 per flag for aluminum flag poles (probably will use)
- flag pole caps are $10 per dozen (have 11 at home)
- velcro is $4 per dozen (have some at home, easy to get)
misc.
- gloves are $12-$15 per pair
- shoes are $35-$57 per pair (DEPENDING ON WHAT KIND OF SHOE WOULD BE BOUGHT) (can use socks?)
- makeup can be from $7 to $14, but its theatrical makeup and easy to get at other places in bulk for cheep
- hair/jewelry can be from $3-$18 (we don’t need and easy to make/buy in bulk for cheep)
so lets say theres 8 people in WG in a year and they all buy the most expensive flag, pole, uniform, shoes, gloves, etc. that would be $665.5 per person (roughly- if each person had 3 silks/poles)
now if they each bought the cheapest thing, it would be $289.5 per person (again with the 3 silks/poles)
$5,324 in total JUST for uniforms/silks
$2,316 in total JUST for uniforms/silks
wow. thats a lot of money. a lot of money that we don’t have! granted, we also still have some silks/poles at school that we can change out, and you can also rent out silks for cheaper.
